2024 is set to break solar installation records, with countries across the globe increasing their renewable energy targets. The total new solar installations worldwide are expected to reach around 593 gigawatts (GW), a significant boost from previous forecasts. Notably, countries like Germany and Brazil are surpassing their installation goals, with Germany already on track to reach a 128 GW capacity by 2026 and Brazil projected to install 16 GW this year. Rapid expansion is also taking place in emerging solar markets, including Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, driven by high panel import volumes, setting them on a course toward becoming major solar producers.
Major Solar Project in the U.S.
Swift Current Energy recently completed its 138 MW Harvest Gold Solar Project in Mississippi, contributing to the U.S. push for sustainable energy sources. This project highlights how tax equity financing, in partnership with financing institutions, is playing a critical role in funding large-scale solar projects in the U.S. as the country seeks to maintain its leadership in renewable energy transitions.
