Off-Grid
An off-grid or standalone solar-electric system is one that utilizes batteries to store the power
you produce during the day. These systems cost more and are more maintenance intensive as a result
of adding the batteries. If you currently are living in an off-grid home or thinking of moving off-grid,
then solar is an excellent way to provide power. It is more reliable, cleaner and less noisy than
utilizing a generator. In a lot of situations, a quality solar system will cost less than paying the
utility to bring a line to your location. To get started, we recommend reading an excellent article on
load calculations provided by Homepower Magazine.

A load evaluation is the first step in designing an off-grid solar system. Once you have an accurate
idea of your loads, feel free to contact us for a site analysis and system quote.
